What will delegates learn in Salzburg?
Legal / Ethics Session:
The challenges of implementing a drug testing program from an international perspective are multi-layered and complex.  A brief review of those challenges are as follows:

  • First, is it legally permissible to drug screen all or some employment candidates for drugs
  • Second, based upon the country’s laws is it feasible to conduct such testing
  • Third, is there an infrastructure in the country to support convenient collection and laboratory testing
  • Lastly, from a candidate psychology perspective, is drug testing palatable

All of the above bullets need to be addressed in order for an employer mandated testing program to be implemented.  Addressing these problems requires multiple stakeholders from individuals who have knowledge of in-country regulations and biases to a network of service providers that meet a given client’s need for testing.
During this session, multiple providers who have tackled these challenges from different perspectives will discuss how they handle these issues now as well as how they hope to do so in.

What are you most looking forward to at IFDAT 2022?
A great chance to meet up with friends from all over the globe- and make some new ones too!

HOTEL BOOKING

IFDAT have negotiated special discounted rates for hotel rooms. The nearest (“host”) hotel is at “The Westin Tampa Waterside” and is only 5 minutes walking distance from the IFDAT2024 venue. The second hotel is at the “Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown” and is 10 minutes walking distance from the IFDAT2024 venue.

We have negotiated these discounted rates for the dates of the conference AND for dates either side. Any additional days will be at the hotel’s standard rates. Room availability is limited and allocated on a “first come – first served” basis. If all rooms have been allocated, or your budget differs, then you will find many other good quality hotels in the area, with great transport links to the IFDAT2024 venue – the Tampa Convention Center.

PLEASE NOTE: The booking(s) is a contract between you and the hotel(s) directly and IFDAT cannot take any responsibility for any part of that contract. Please ensure you therefore read and understand the hotel’s Terms and Conditions of booking – including cancellation policy.

Thank you for visiting the IFDAT website.

We would like to assure our fantastic international IFDAT community that the IFDAT conference will be back in 2026.

We have had lots of emails and messages from so many people across the globe (including past Sponsors, Speakers and Delegates) asking us when the next IFDAT Conference will be and where.

Firstly, thank you to everyone for your support. In 2025 we have decided to support 3 organisations that have always supported IFDAT.

National Drug and Alcohol Screening Association  – conference in Jacksonville Florida in April 2025

European Workplace Drug Testing Society (EWDTS)  – conference in Barcelona Spain in April 2025

SAPAA (Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association) – conference in Phoenix Arizona in October 2025

Our decision not to hold an IFDAT conference in 2025 was to take a little pressure off speakers’, delegates’ and sponsors’ budgets. We know this has been appreciated by many and hopefully adds to the success of the 3 conferences above – where IFDAT will be in full support and attendance.

So, IFDAT conference will be back in 2026 and we will have our usual high quality program aimed at bringing together discussion, innovation and best practice from the Drugs and Alcohol testing industry leaders and experts from across the globe.

When and where…?

We will announce the dates and location later in 2025. So make sure you follow IFDAT (on LinkedIn) and sign up for our newsletter (via the website) to ensure you are one of the first to know!

In the meantime – we will see you at a conference soon!

Thank you for your support from all of the IFDAT team!
